This Vase is made of the historically enchanting, blue Opaline Glass of France circa 1900. As this glass goes it, this is a rather large piece, standing 7-5/8" tall. The bottom decoration is composed of dancing roses on bushes and the neck is a ribbed band topped with sprigs of Acanthus sprigs.
The piece was made by Portieux & Vallerystal circa 1900. The base is acid marked "Made in France". The glass is a product of its time and bears features which are new to the enthusiast of 21 Century glass: in this case, there are two vertical manufacturer's mold lines and there are sporadic (yet inconsequential) signs of manufactured impurities in the glass mix. The Item is nevertheless in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or repairs.
