Most chairs have four legs and the legs go straight down. I was thinking a lot about sitting, how your body is only touching a few particular points of the chair. How can I support those points? How can I hold up the body a different way?”

As a result, the chair’s frame is foundry-produced in steel; and the custom hardware is 3D printed. Spencer considers this piece more of an engineering feat, really, than a design experiment. But then again, like all of TGM’s best pieces, the question is raised: where do you draw the line between engineering and design experimentation?

Available in different leather colors, as well as different powder coated bases (whether its white, blue, black, or red- anything in between).
