Did you know? The … more Beautiful color print by Theo Tobiasse (1927 - 2012), entitled "A Light on St. Mark's Square
Did you know? The color lithography corresponds to a superposition of colored areas. The artist uses a separate stone for each color. After having outlined on a tracing paper the areas of color, he transfers them to a stone by proceeding with the registration.
When the drawing is completed, each stone is inked with the appropriate color and printed in turn on the same sheet of paper. The order of printing must be carefully chosen. Precise registration is necessary. It is obtained in most cases by pinholes and small rectangles drawn.

Throughout his work, Théo Tobiasse's favorite themes come back like incantations. The woman, mother or lover, omnipotent mistress, carrier and receptacle of all desires.
Travel, exile, cities as witnesses: Paris, New York, Venice, Jerusalem; circuses, musicians and acrobats, mythological and biblical subjects.
These main themes are declined by as many different techniques, used alone or in association.
He expresses his feelings in two or three dimensions, from the lightest collage to the monumental bronze or concrete sculpture, from the delicacy of a glaze thrown on a sheet of paper, to the vigorous full paste of a canvas saturated with colors, up to his palette, which has become a mountain, a sort of fantastic landscape whose secrets only the artist knows.
In total, there are more than 150 works in all techniques that illustrate the immense creativity and uniqueness of an artist who has crossed the twentieth century by keeping deep within himself, the lights of hope in the darkest hours of the history of this century.
