Artist Lance Kleinsmith creates a feast for the eyes, in his color rich view of the often overlooked world around us. This mixed medium representation of the life both seen and unseen amongst the cracks embedded in the San Francisco urban landscape, combines both the aspects of fantasy and the ever present urban decay of the city he loves.

De Haro & Mariposa took just over one thousand hours to complete and is comprised of several hundred hand cast and painted sinuous adornments on a resin and board frame.

Lance Kleinsmith earned his B.F.A at Chapman University in the early 1990s. He has worked numerous years in the motion picture industry for both Walt Disney Studios and Trimark Pictures (now Lionsgate) and has shown in both solo and group exhibitions both in the United States and Australia. His works can be seen in private collections throughout both regions. less
