Very intricate subject depicting a boy with a box hung from his neck, possibly a music box with which he would entertain public on the streets
Two trained mice atop of the box are certainly the stars of the show
Marked on the underside as shown - capital letters EE and number 62 or so bellow
Circa mid 1800's, most likely French
Measurements: Approx. 9" tall x 6" x 4.25"
Weighs about 1 lb. 15 oz.
Condition: Good overall. Please examine carefully the photos. A few minor flaws: a missing piece from the belt holding the box through the boy's neck, one of his hands has been repaired, altogether unobtrusive and commensurate with age and use. less
