The door panels have intricate Rococo style carvings set over an acid washed metal base.
The cabinet contains one shelf and sits on a separate footed base.
This is a beautiful, solid piece with great detail and quality. It would be lovely in any room or entrance hall.
It has been slightly altered from its original design as a room divider. The travertine plant stand that was attached has been removed and the base shortened in order to create a smaller piece.
Pierre Bartet was a French furniture maker who immigrated to the United States after WWII from Southern France. He opened his shop in Washington D.C. (Georgetown), where he designed and hand carved the furniture templates. He worked with clients such as Jackie Kennedy and Madame X, creating one-of-a-kind pieces
