This Really is an Absolutely Beautiful - Very Fine Quality Original Matched Pair of Antique Silver Candelabras. Circa Early 20th Century. They are Completely Hand Made out of 800 Grade Continental Coin Silver. They Have Finely Detailed Hollow Hand Chased - Repousse Decorated Mid Sections. The Bobeches ( Drip Plates ) and the Figurative Center Acorn Style Finials are Solid Cast. They have a Hallmark that is Most Likely an Indication of Their Origin ? that I Was Not Able to Identify but in My Considered Opinion They are Most Likely from the Continental European Region or Possibly The Netherlands. They also have a 800 Stamp that Denotes - Confirms the 80% Silver Content. The Set is in Very Nice Original Condition with No Damage & No Repairs. They Could Use a Good Polishing - Buffing. The 2 Pieces Combined have a Substantial True - All 800 Grade Silver Weight of 757.76 Grams / 24.361 Troy Ounces. Note! That They are Mostly Hollow in Construction with Absolutely No Other Added Materials - Fillers or Weighting. Note Also that They Can be Quickly Dissembled ( Screw & Unscrew - See Last Photograph ) to Ease in the Cleaning and Polishing Process. The Silver has been Professionally Tested and They are Absolutely Guaranteed to be All 800 Grade Silver as Stated.
Each Measures 7 1/2 inches Tall x 8 1/4 inches Long x 3 5/8 inches Wide at Base.
Most of the Continental European Silver Makers used and still do use Various Grades of Coin Silver - Typically 800, 825, 830, 833, 835, 875 & 900 Grades Etc. This Piece Being Marked 833 would have a 83.3% - 833/1000 Pure Silver Content. Sterling Silver has a slightly higher 92.5% Silver Content - that being 925/1000 Silver Content.
