It is structurally solid and rolls freely on it's chrome ball casters. The very cool Bodil Kjaer aluminium door pulls have only minor patina. The wood shines nicely but has a couple of minor flaws: there is evidence of three small edge chip repairs on the left end of the piece and there is minor fading and a very faint ring on the top surface. The piece comes with two original keys. The lock works fine but is a bit sticky. The cabinet still retains the 'E. Pedersen & Son' label on the base. less

This is a very rare and desirable rolling storage unit by legendary Danish architect and designer Bodil Kjaer for E. Pedersen & Son AS, Denmark. Designed in 1959.
She designed this piece to accompany the very wonderful and iconic Bodil Kjaer executive desk (google it, it's amazing!) but it actually makes an awesome low sideboard or even bench base all by itself. It is finished in rosewood veneer with walnut inner shelves. The rear of the piece is finished in stunning rosewood veneer panels reinforcing the idea that the piece was intended to 'float' in a space rather than sit against a wall - the rear is so beautiful.
This rare piece is in very good vintage condition. It is structurally solid and rolls freely on it's chrome ball casters. The very cool Bodil Kjaer aluminium door pulls have only minor patina. The wood shines nicely but has a couple of minor flaws: there is evidence of three small edge chip repairs on the left end of the piece and there is minor fading and a very faint ring on the top surface and a small hard to see ding on very bottom corner. The piece comes with two original keys. The lock works fine but is a bit sticky. The cabinet still retains the 'E. Pedersen & Son' label on the base.
The cabinet measures about 48.5" x 17" x 19.5" less
