This piece was given, in the mid 80s, to the owner while on a stint in Zambia. UTA used to service the Lusaka-Paris route, as well as many other international long haul routes.

This lighter would be a cool addition to a cigarette lighter collection, or a cool acquisition for the aviation enthusiast.
I have never seen another one like it, although they are probably out there.
It sparks but does not light. Perhaps it needs a new flint, and I assume after all these years, it needs butane.
The finish has a tiny chip on one side which reveals the brass underneath (photo # 12 ), which leads me to believe that perhaps the tortoise finish is enamel.
I would say that it is in very good vintage condition.
