Chair no. 221½ was designed by Gebrüder Thonet in 1898. Jugenstil or Art Nouveau style. It's depicted in the Thonet catalogue of 1906 (page 19).
This version no. 221½ of the chair is somewhat smaller than chair no. 221 (in the same catalogue on page 18). Colour is redbrown. New handwoven rattan seat. Marked “Thonet” underneath the seat. This piece has an attribution mark,
