This antique 11x13 IndoChinese Samarkand rug is a rare new addition to Rug & Kilim’s prized classic curations. Hand-knotted in wool, it originates circa 1920-1930.

This piece boasts the maximalist Chinese Deco style of the 1920s, and enjoys brilliant medallions and vase pictorials on a navy blue open field. Keen eyes will admire similar colors beside green and rust accents in the many geometric-floral patterns the field and border enjoys.
Connoisseurs will further note that our principal has seldom seen such an uncommon Deco curation from works in this provenance. It’s an unusual curation of style, color, and size, and furthermore extremely collectible therein.
