This listing is for a rare antique industrial regulator wall clock
This one is the Holtzer "Magneto" Watchmans Clock.
It was made in Boston, Massachusetts, by the Holtzer Cabot Electric Company
This clock is housed in a very heavy walnut wooden case
It retains its original 15-day double barrel Seth Thomas time-only movement.
The clock also retains its original inner movement. According to online articles, the watchman would wind a small crank at the station (inside) generating a pulse that would close a solenoid and punch a hole in a dial-shaped punch card
42.25 x 21 x 9 inches.
The clock is in overall good condition. A few minor scratches on the wood from normal wear in historically industrial settings.
The reverse paint on the front glass is in overall good condition. Words are all still legible. A few splotches of fading and minor paint loss from normal age and west
Door key is missing, but the door is unlocked
The movement was last serviced in 2015. The time only movement ran when tested. We’re not entirely sure how the lower part works, but when would, the lower movement did start ticking away.
Chairish sells clocks solely to be intended for display. The mechanical elements are not guaranteed to be in working order by Chairish
