This is an Absolutely Beautiful - Very Fine Quality Antique American Preserves - Jam Serving Jar. Circa Very Early 20th Century. The Large Size Thick - Heavy Crystal Base is Custom Made - Hand Blown in The Classic Art Glass Method. It is Hand Cut and Hand Carved - Etched Decorated With Strawberries - Flowers - Leafs & Vines in The Intaglio Style. The Jar has 2 Applied Handles that Would Have Been Attached during the Making When All of the Crystal was in The Molten State. It has a Solid Sterling Silver Top - Lid that has a Fancy Hand Engraved 3 Letter Monogram and it is Notched at The Rim to Accommodate a Spoon ( Not Included). The Lid is Signed - Has the Documented Maker Mark of The Watson Silver Company in Attleboro Massachusetts. The Lid has a Substantial Solid Sterling Silver Weight of 53.35 Grams / 1.716 Troy Ounces. It is in Very Nice All Original Condition - No Damage - Displays Beautifully. Note that there is a Small Imperfection Where One of he Handles Was Attached ( Internal Bubble ) but This Absolutely Occurred at the Time that it was Produced - When the Handle was Attached in the Molten State - See Last Photograph.
It Measures 4 inches Tall x 7 1/2 inches Long x 5 1/2 inches Wide.
The Cut Crystal Features have a Wonderful Clear Color & Sparkle in the Light - It is Much Prettier in Life than my Photographs can Capture.
THIS PIECE MUST BE HAND WASHED IN WARM WATER ONLY.
DO NOT PUT IN A AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER AT THE RISK OF DAMAGE - EXTREME HEAT COULD CAUSE INTERNAL CRACKS TO THE CRYSTAL.
