This antique Chinese cast iron 2 piece censer retains much of its original color. The inside bottom of the censor bowl is somewhat pitted from use. The chop marks at the center of the bottom are unrecognizable. The piece is 10 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches high.
This antique censor was brought out of China...but the design has always looked more Japanese tome...I did find a number of Japanese antiques in China, which had been brought into China by the Japanese officers during the WW2 Japanese occupation in China...This may be one such item.... less
