DESCRIPTION:
3D acrylic on canvas. Mr Mauro mixed paint combined with stucco and concrete and with a brush and trowel has created this beautiful multi-faceted work of art. Signed and titled Ocean I. Unframed.
DESCRIPTION AS SPOKEN BY THE ARTIST:
I have always been fascinated by the colors of rough sea waves. The shapes that create the waves and the noise of them add to the colors. The rough sea I find very similar to the turbulent and constantly moving spirit of many artists including myself.
PERSPECTIVE AS SPOKEN BY THE ARTIST:
My work is a balancing act between excess and the need for control. The essence of nothing emerges and the importance of everything is revealed. Plus and minus are not adversaries, but rather in love. Curios and eclectic without borders and without mental barriers, I enhance. Fleeting and impetuous brushstrokes refer to the time that passes without ever stopping, taking everything away, and leaving infinite expressions but often unpleasant traces. Empty and white spaces with contrasting color not only highlight the elements present, but are an invitation to man to pause for reflection on the meaning and importance of life.
THE ARTIST:
MAURIZIO MAURO IN HIS OWN WORDS:
I was born in a small village in Southern Italy, the last son and last grandson of a traditional and large Italian family. My love for art and interest in details manifested themselves from the first years of my life. Instead of playing with friends, I preferred to draw while listening to essays and unusual speeches from my elderly grandparents. I have never questioned my interests but have always guarded and cultivated them. My degree in fashion design allowed me to express myself in creations developed for several world famous companies, from Ferragamo to Lamborghini to creative director of a large clothing manufacturer in China. Without overshadowing my love for art and design, I obtained an additional degree in economics. My constant wish is to continue learning new things and experiencing new kinds of individuals. Being a thinking subject, we must always delve into new ideas without ever surrendering to what appears improbable.
