- This large 19th Century Kettle from the Middle East is Islamic in design with applied bronze Arabic writing and silver … more This large 19th Century Kettle from the Middle East is Islamic in design with applied bronze Arabic writing and silver braided accents. The bottom is stamped with the 'Hilaal' , which in Arabic, is the curved shape of the waning moon, and a five pointed star representing the Five Pillars of Islam. It does hold water, but is no longer suitable as a tea kettle, its interior is lined with calcium build up. It would, however make a beautiful container for flowers. less
