Modern style meets classic elegance in this hand knotted wool neutral Oushak Turkish rug. The intrinsic botanical design and soft earth-tone colors woven into this piece work together creating a look of subtle sophistication. Taking center stage is a large hexagonal medallion outlined with soft gray acanthus trim and anchored with palmette pendants. Serrated leaves extend from palmette pendants into the beige colored field. Angular foliage emanate from the corner spandrels while the stepped outline composed of triple banded stripes adds definition and a sense of order. A corresponding Herati-style main border and almond blossom guard borders frame the composition. The lovely color palette of warm neutrals and striking gray tones gives the piece a relaxed, comfortable feel, while also being extremely versatile. This modern Oushak rug would be an understated, yet elegant addition to any interior, especially for those wanting a traditional style, but more modern color combinations.
