the story behind:
in 1928, max le verrier designed after a live model, the famous clarté, a woman with a
illuminated ball - the main piece of his artistic work.
in fact, he needed three different models:
one for the head, one for the upper part of the body and one for the legs. For this last part he asked an african-american dancer who played in the shows of josephine baker.
the work picks up the theme of the female nude in a very aesthetic way and at the same time symbolize the time of the art deco with its typical hairstyle and simplicity in their line.
