Large in scale, this beautifully rendered Japanese charger depicts a gentle yet joyful scenic vision from a crescent moon, sweeping tree, to deer near a curving brook. It’s all sweetly romantic and graceful.
Originally purchased in the 1970s, the charger age is unknown, likely 19th century. Receipts and paperwork is no longer available.
Condition is excellent overall. Particular to hand painted, hand made porcelain ceramics of Japan are various anomalies to the surface throughout the front and back: dimples, iron spots, and rough surfaces.
Included is a substantial plate stand for display of the charger. less
