Shaped panels at top and bottom (along with the vertical frame supports) are inlaid with copper and brass with a beautiful traditional design. When the shelves unfold the bottom one is supported by small hinged corbels whereas the top shelf is supported by the detachable turned columns.
A very useful item that can be used for books, candles (with care) or ornaments - in a variety of places in the home.
This shelf would have taken a skilled artisan a long, ong time to make. Made of Shesham wood or Indian Mahogany.
No markings.
Very good condition with expected minor surface imperfections.
