A beautiful French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding three slip shades and three side-shades by Degue done in frosted moulded-pressed glass. Degué , the company directed by David Guéron, opened its doors in 1925. Guéron employed the ceramist and designer Cazaux as his artistic director and head designer. In 1936 production stopped and it finally closed down in 1939.
The high quality fixture has nice detailed decorations. The chandelier is represented in the old product catalog of Morin a producer of art deco lighting in the city of Lyon France. The catalogs are of course no part of this sale.
The chandelier is in very good condition. Some tiny chips on the inside of the slip shades. Nothing disturbing. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mounting. The chandelier has a height of about 80 cm (31-1/2"). And it's 58 cm wide (22,83"). It is rewired and holds six American candelabra base sockets.
