All folding … moreBoth chairs are in an excellent structural condition, they fold smoothly and extend into level and stable seating. All folding mechanisms still feel bulletproof, these chairs can go another 100 years! It's a testament how well home furnishings were manufactured in this country in the middle of the last century. There are lots of scuffs, marks, scratches to all the wood surfaces and patina to the metal hardware, all typical of age and use. These chairs are almost 90 years old! The bottoms of the legs show heavier wear and distress with remnants of paint splashes on one of the legs, please see the last photo. As we place some of our items with film and television period productions (who value authentic patina, distress and age) we have left these chairs in the original, as-found condition. These chairs could use a thorough cleaning and detailing if they are to be used in the home. Please review all the photos as we have made an effort to show all the imperfections. less
