Pair of porcelain zebra sculptures feature a resting mare and foal made by the Italian artist Giovanni Ronzan. These ceramic models were made at the Ronzan factory in Bassano Italy during the Mid Century, 1950s era. Colors are perfect, including the amber colored eyes & light pink in the mouths & ears.
Mare is hand signed to the verso "Ronzan Italy" number 1592. Verso of the foal is unsigned because it was sold as a pair.
Giovanni Ronzan and his brothers founded the the factory circa 1939 shortly after he had left his job as chief painter and ceramic modeller at the Lenci factory.
