This Mid-Century French fashion design is by the iconic Balenciaga. It dates to 1953. It originally appeared in a French haute couture fashion magazine of the time. It is NOT a recent reproduction print. It is glamor personified. It showcases a long slender evening gown with a boat neckline and dropped trail of a hemline. Done in black, pink and gray slashes of paint on white, it sure makes a statement. The colors are vivid and strong. And note the fabulous mid-shoulder length gloves! As stated, "le trait interprète l'idée" showcases Balenciaga's creative genius. This print is signed in lower right by Pierre Simon, a well-known French mid-century fashion illustrator.
