Description: Henry SAINT CLAIR (1899-1990) Normandy: Young women with a parasol on the beach Oil on panel Signed lower left On … more Henry SAINT CLAIR (1899-1990) Normandy: Young women with a parasol on the beach Oil on panel Signed lower left On panel 39 x 19 cm at sight Presented in a golden baguette frame 53 x 33 cm Henry Saint-Clair is a French post-Impressionist painter whose work is dotted with Normandy beaches (Deauville, Honfleur, Trouville, etc.), brushed with delicacy in a warm Belle Epoque atmosphere. His compositions recall those of the painters Kees Van Dongen or Raoul Dufy, but here with a softer color palette and in a style all his own. His paintings are pleasant, reflect a certain joie de vivre and lull us into the carefree holiday by the sea. Excellent condition, small flaws in the frame (see photo) This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
