Description: Pair of 19th Century painted swedish commodes circa 1870. Good quality pair of gustavian influenced chest of drawers. Rectangular tops … more Pair of 19th Century painted swedish commodes circa 1870. Good quality pair of gustavian influenced chest of drawers. Rectangular tops with canted corners and moulded edging. Each chest is fitted with 3 drawers, the top drawer with channeled detailing across the front. All fitted with later ring handles and shield shaped escutheon plates. Working locks and a single key. Later light blue paint has since worn and has taken on a desirable faded appearance. Each standing on 4 tapered legs. These chests would work well in multiple rooms around the house, such as the bedroom or hallway. Minor surface marks, expected losses and rubbing to paintwork. less
