Val's dollhouse of Forget-Me-Not Furnishings is proud to present this vintage reproduction sleigh inspired by 18th century folk art designs. Hand carved, painted and distressed to replicate antiquity (or may already be antique), a single putto (minus the wings) is at the helm of this quintessential mode if winter transportation. Winter scenes are painted on either side of the sleigh, florals and more carving decorate the back in lavish display. Possibly inspired by Italian art, depicting mt. Vesuvius on one side.
The sleigh is large in scale, yet not quite life-size. It is an ideal all-season display for plants (imagine poinsettia and evergreens in winter; ferns in summer) at an historic home, winter chalet, or woodland retreat. Add some feather wings to the cherub and display gifts within the coach at Christmas, or special objects at other times of year. Also lovely in its own right, uses are limited only by your imagination.
It is unexpectedly quite heavy for its size.
