RARE! This is an original 1902 botanical of a drawing from a French portfolio of 4 volumes of "Encyclopedie de la Plante", an “artistique” and “documentaire” collection of botanical prints, Beaux-Arts print collection- Iris Germanique. This Beaux-Arts collection was originally used for edification and research on plants from throughout the world.. The Iris Germanique is commonly known to us as the "Bearded Iris". It is an eye-catching flower best known for its ruffled petals that stand tall on slim green foliage. This is a drawn illustration of the anatomical structure of the plant. Note detailing in buds, blossoms, leaves, stems. Done on warm cream tone paper. Excellent, clean, pristine. 11.75 x 15.25 inches.
