During the Korean War, he re-entered the military as an Army Chinese interpreter. In 1956, Woon graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, having majored in Political Science with a minor in Art. For ten years, he worked for the government as a management analyst in the Programs and Management Division of the Comptrollers and another ten years for President Lyndon B.
