This is a rare Original 1989 1st edition lithograph poster of Andy Warhol's Cows prints --images that are instantly recognizable and have become among the artist's most iconic works. Andy Warhol published his Cow portfolios in 4 different bright neon colored combinations. The first in pink on a yellow background debuted in 1966 at the Leo Castelli Gallery where an entire room was wallpapered with the image multiplied. The second in brown on blue in 1971 and the third in yellow on blue also in 1971 were in conjunction with an exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the fourth in pink on purple in 1977 was for an exhibition at the Modern Art Pavilion in Seattle. This poster features the very first Cow of 1966 on the right and the third of 1971 on the left. It's a quality color lithograph printed on thick matte finish art paper in France by Nouvelles Images under authorization from the Andy Warhol Estate and Foundation. The impression is very good in capturing the vivid neon colors and fine details of the original prints. See less
