Handmade in Maine USA. Attributed to lobstermen in the Scarborough County tradition, with galvanized hand-driven nailheads, dowled connections, three (3) bent wood "half-moon" main supports. Original finish. Stained, varnished and paste waxed to a polished satin finish.
Hand knotted waxed netting.
Many generations of experienced craftsmanship went into the design and creation.
In near perfect condition with no signs of wear or use.

This american masterpiece was meant to last for years of ocean use. The dowel and side floor supports appear original, made from the same wood and era as the main body. A testament to the fading era and art of wooden lobster trap making. less
