How many times did we wish we had another pair of hands when entertaining? This ingenious design at least gives the bartender a little boost. Made in the 1950s by the Poole Silverplate Company, this is under the design called, Bristol Silverplate. Operating out of Taunton, Massachusetts, the Poole Silver Company was established by George Poole and Edward Roche. Initially, the firm did business under the name of Poole, Roche & Co. This manufacturer of sterling silver, electroplated nickel silver, and silver plate was incorporated on May 21 of 1895. The clever design consists of a lever that is attached to the lid and handle, allows for one handed use. It measures 12.5" tall from leg base to top of handle x 7.25" bucket diameter. The bucket itself is 6.5" tall. It is called Silverplate but in actuality is an electroplate copper alloy. It is in good vintage condition, tarnished. I do not clean pieces, I leave that decision to buyers. The glass insert is in good condition, no chips or cracks. I am unable to remove insert and avoid trying, as I do not want to damage it.
