The corners … more C. 1720 French Regence period serpentine front commode in kingwood with geometric patterns to the sides and drawers. The corners inlaid in tulipwood. Has original locks and replaced ormolu handles in repetitive figure patterns. The mottled gray marble has an interesting red splash of color. The provenance is Sotheby’s in New York where the commode was sold on May 22,2001 (see catalog photo and description photo). Measures 34” x 49” x 24.5. less
