Deep brown Albany slip glaze inside … more Gorgeous large unmarked two-tone 6-gallon salt glaze stoneware crock from the mid 19th century. Deep brown Albany slip glaze inside and on top half, with natural salt glaze on the bottom, marked with a black stenciled "6". The crock has an unglazed lip, a small incised line below the lip, and "ear" handles on both sides.

In great shape, consistent with age and use, with natural firing and clay imperfections, minor cracks and one chip on bottom, and loss of a small spot of glaze on interior bottom, as shown, none of which affect structural integrity or display. Please see pictures for details and condition.
