Native American, Southwestern USA, Hopi people, created by Nancy Lewis, active from ca. 1960 to 1980. A classic example of a fired clay bulbous vase with elaborate black and red painted migration motif on the exterior. Nancy Lewis was a Hopi potter from the First Mesa village Sichomovi. Several of her pottery vessels are in the collection of the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. This example is signed on the underside, "Nancy Lewis, Polacca AZ - CB-02
