This Hollywood Regency solid brass coffee table with an oval, bevelled glass top (3/4" thick) makes a statement in any room. The faux bamboo posts, together with its unique "raceway" shape lends an architectural flair to the piece. Designed by Bernard Rohne for Mastercraft. Manufactured in Italy.
There is a lovely patina to the brass base. Great vintage condition. No scratches or chips to the glass.
Mastercraft was founded in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1946 by brothers Charles and William Doezema who came from a family of cabinet makers. The Doezema brothers went overseas during World War II and returned to the US with a plan to make furniture in an urban cosmopolitan style. Mastercraft specialized in chairs and case pieces with traditional forms and modernized veneers and finishes. In 1974 Mastercraft was acquired by Baker Furniture and employed Vancouver-based artist Bernhard Rohne to design large case pieces. The bold and artful statement of Mastercraft furniture, tables, chairs, and cases are popular with collectors around the world today. less
