Description: A pair of antique candle holders from the Emaux de Longwy art pottery workshop in France, dating to the late … more A pair of antique candle holders from the Emaux de Longwy art pottery workshop in France, dating to the late 19th century. The substantial candlesticks feature Longwy art pottery stems hand-decorated with a Chinoiserie style enameled glaze of bold bright blue accented with scattered flower blossoms in maroon-red and white with green foliage. The column stems are supported on a stepped and pierced square bronze base. The upper part of each candlestick features a decorative metal collar and removable candle cups with beaded edges. Both candle holders are in very good condition with patination and a little polish residue in the crevices of the metalwork. Each candlestick is designed to hold standard taper candles and measures 8.5 in. height x 4.13 in. square (at base). less
