Collectable Wang Bing Rong Chinese Republic Vase Cafe-Au-Lait & Cream Glaze with Scenes of Flying Cranes and Peacocks in Relief.
This is a rare two tone piece in a traditional baluster form. The top and bottom sections in a glowing cafe-au-lait monochrome glaze. The mid section done in a contrasting cream glaze with a wrap-around lake scene in mid-relief portraying pairs of cranes flying towards a pair of peacocks perched on a rocky outcrop under Cherry Blossom branches, with peonies or chrysanthenums in the foreground. This is a masterful piece, done to the highest of qulaity.
Impressed with the Wang Bing Rong hallmark on underside.

Peices of Wang BingRong porcelain have sold large sums and are also found in the British Muesem Collection.

Wang BingRong: A notable potter and porcelain carver, successfully transformed the technique of carved bamboo to porcelains and specializing in porcelain with carved decoration, some like ivory carvings. Active in Tongzhi to Guangxu period (1862-1908)
Wang Bingrong was one of the finest of a small group of independent ceramicists of the 19th. century who began to emerge from the traditionally anonymous production of ceramics at Jingdezhen by signing their names, developing distinctive styles and acquiring fame. His dates are not known, but Wang probably worked sometime during the Daoguang period into the first quarter of the 20th. Century. less
