Description: Imari bowl standing on openwork concave round base with four classical volute feet in semi-circular cumform, scrolls on both sides … more Imari bowl standing on openwork concave round base with four classical volute feet in semi-circular cumform, scrolls on both sides depicting incense burners and tea tables, accompanied by floral arabesques in pungent blue and iron red. Laterally raised classical handles with angular volutes and laurel hangings made of gilded bronze, bronze mounting of the bowl's rim with openwork wavy band and plastic pearl frieze. The bowl was probably made in China in the 19th century based on the Japanese Imari ware, which became increasingly popular in Europe. The fine bronze mounting in Louis XVI style, made in France/Paris in the 2nd half of the 19th century, fits very harmoniously to the Asian shape of the bowl. Condition: good, min. signs of age and wear, partly abrasion. less
