The design and inspiration for this model, came from the iconic 209 "Le Corbusier" chair, but has a backrest. It had either a cane or upholstered finish.

The Ligna brand, was the result of the nationalization of several Thonet factories, after the Second World War.

The structure is made of bent beechwood and carries its original, green, textured fabric on the backrests and seats.

The chair also has its original, rattan webbing/caning, beneath the upholstery, which is in perfect condition, with no wear or tear (see photos.)

The chair is being sold "as is." As the fabric has signs of age and previous usage over time, one may choose to reupholster or update the original upholstery, decide to keep "as is", or remove the fabric, in order to showcase the rattan webbing of the seat (see photos).

The wood structure is in very good, original and vintage condition, with light marks and signs of age and previous usage commensurate with time (see photos.) Some faded areas of finish on the overall structure, as well as patina of age and time (see photos.) Some signs of age and fading on the rear legs, see photos.

It has only been gently cleaned and polished with respect to its original patina.

The chair is solid and carries its makers' mark and country of provenance under the seats (see photos.)
