It is rosewood with brass fittings and a stretcher. The combination aesthetics of the yin and yang of Western function meets Asian simple sensibility of design. The stool is made from 2 curving and inverted semi L shaped wood sections. Each one of those sections forms a sculpted leg and a half of a seat. The two halves are joined by a brass rod that basically holds the two sections. This is sculpture in a stool form. From the 20th Century. See less
