Set of 12 beautiful clothes hangers in refined black lacquered plastic. Originals from the early 80s perfectly reflect the style and signature of their creator. Elegant and soft design, they maintain their elegance and modernity over time. The lightness of their design makes them an object of great class and of great effect as details that manifest the refinement and attention of elegant, modern private and professional contexts, attentive to the search for detail. A very nice classy signature that underlines the attention and good taste of those who offer them to the sight of their guests.
Ingo Maurer, after working as a typographer between Germany and Switzerland and completing his graphic design studies in Munich in 1958, between 1960 and 1963 he lived between New York and San Francisco working as an independent designer.
In 1960 he founded the company Design M, which later became Ingo Maurer GmbH: among the first creations of the house there is the Bulb table lamp (1966). The company will then produce other lamps designed by Maurer himself, several of which will be included in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Exhibitions and exhibitions dedicated to him or curated by him have been held in various cities in Europe and beyond: in Paris, St. Petersburg, Munich, Amsterdam, Cologne, New York, Barcelona and Frankfurt. Some of his installations found a place in the Westfriedhof and Münchner Freiheit stations of the Munich underground.
For the importance of his research on design world, Maurer achieved several international awards: among them the Design Award from the city of Munich (1999), the Primavera del Disseny in Barcelona (2001), and the Georg Award Jensen in Copenhagen in 2003. In 2005 he was appointed Royal Designer of Industry by the Royal Society of Arts in London, while a year later he was awarded an honorary degree from the Royal College of Art. In 2011 he was awarded the Compasso Gold Association for Industrial Design.
On 21 October 2019 he died at the age of 87. Lately he lived and worked in Munich.
