A beautiful pair of 1925-1930 French art deco wall sconces in nickel on cast solid brass holding shades in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass both signed Donna Paris. The deco of the shades and mounts make a beautiful match. The sconces are in excellent condition. I have replated the fixtures.
Les etablissements DONNA (Le Palais de la Lustrerie) was a large lighting firm in Paris with four large shops all over town and its factories in the Parisian suburb Nogent sur Marne. The company was created in the early 20s by the Jewish Bulgarian emigrant Robert Bahsi. He named his company Donna in honor of his daughter Donna Bahsi. It had several models shades specially made for them signed Donna Paris. It is unknown which glass factory made this Donna signed lamp shades. Probably Muller freres or EJG. Certain however is that they are of outstanding quality and beautiful design.
The wall lights are 36,8 cm high (14-1/2") and 16,5 cm wide (6-1/2"). They project 16 cm from the wall. The sconces are rewired with American candelabra base sockets.
