Beautiful, and large, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso cobalt blue over clear Italian art glass owl figurine, paperweight / sculpture. Documented to the Salviati company, with original "Made In Italy - Salviati & C - Murano" label still attached underneath. The owl has a minimal and abstract design, with 2 cut out windows for the eyes, and a bubble in the middle (which form the front gets refracted into the 2 eyes. The back is cut flat where you can see the 1 bubble. Also, the inside clear glass on the owl does glow under a black light (see photo), so it has some UV reactive or Uranium glass within it. Would make a great display piece on any desk, curio cabinet or vanity. Late Mid-century era. Very cute piece! Measures: 5 1/4" tall x 4" wide x 3 1/4" long.
