The finishes of gilt … moreThis c.1930 French Art Deco wrought iron gate/door is most certainly a one off sculptural creation. The finishes of gilt and black bent iron show wear, chips and paint loss, most notably at the bottom of the frame. All iron has solid joinery at all points. The open work stylized figure of a dancing nude woman shows well from both sides. A handle is positioned on both the front and back as well. Provenance: Jackson's International Auctioneers, purchased 2017. This is a high quality installation of art that could be used in a practical manner as a door or gate, with display inside or out.
