Description: This antique Japanese Edo Period dish features Imari decoration which includes hand painted polychrome enamel accents. The piece has a … more This antique Japanese Edo Period dish features Imari decoration which includes hand painted polychrome enamel accents. The piece has a low shallow form with fluted walls and a scalloped edge. The face of the dish bears an unusual central medallion motif consisting of underglaze cobalt blue floral and foliate motifs with hand painted iron red highlights. The medallion is surrounded by alternating blue and white panels which also bear colorful floral and foliate details.

The dish is in very good antique condition with no cracks or repairs. As an antique item, the dish shows signs of age consisting of wear to the decoration and a few small shallow chips to the rim which are mentioned for accuracy. The dish measures 8.25" from side to side and stands 1.25" tall. The piece weighs in at just under 1 lb.

This hand decorated Edo Period Japanese Imari porcelain dish displays beautifully and would be a great addition to collection of antique Asian ceramics. A lovely find! less
