This is a Great Looking Antique Early American Salt Glaze Stoneware Storage Jar - Crock. With "Ears" - Handles. Circa … more This is a Great Looking Antique Early American Salt Glaze Stoneware Storage Jar - Crock. With "Ears" - Handles. Circa Late 19th Century. The Front is Embossed with Blue Decorated Highlights - WINSHIP & SPENCER, NORWICH ( Connecticut ). It is in Very Good Structurally Strong - Sound Condition with No Cracks - Displays Very Nicely. It has a Few Small Chips at the Top Rim Area - 1 at the Base Perimeter and 2 on the Lower Portion of One Handle All of Which Would have Occurred with Normal Use Over the Years. It also has a Chip on the Top of the Other Handle That is Glaze Over so it Would Have Occurred at the Time That it was Made - Kiln Flaw. It has a Couple Kiln Glaze Imperfections at the Base Area that Would Have Occurred in The Firing Process. Stoneware Pieces Such as These were Fired in Large Kilns with Numerous Other Pieces at the Same Time. This Piece Would be Great in Country Primitive Style Kitchen to Store and Display Wooden Spoons - Utensils Etc.
It Measures 7 1/4 inches Tall x 8 1/2 inches Long x 7 1/2 inches Wide.
