This is a high quality elegant, English settee or sofa in the French Hepplewhite revival or Louis XV style, upholstered in a Three Dimensional floral fabric. It has a good shaped giltwood frame with a lovely flowing Rococo style, a serpentine front and cabriole legs, front and rear.
All the frame has been ornately carved to a high standard. The central front leg is a nice feature as it gives additional style and support. The opulent Rococo design style was influenced by the French Louis XV period, then interpreted by Robert Adam as seen on English furniture made in the Georgian Hepplewhite period, then revived again in the mid-19th century.
