Vintage 1970s backgammon and chess set depicting the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire, 1519-21.
Carved chessmen portray the great Montezuma II and Aztec warriors defending their land against Cortez and his men. The faux stone pieces are a unique mix of resin and crushed stone crafted from the mold of a hand-carved original. A decorative wood and resin case holds all components. One side is backgammon, the other is chess. The set is complete with all pieces and has good weight to it.
