Description: Truly beautiful, antique, Cambodian Silver elephant betel nut box. Made in the traditional Khmer silver work. Made around the turn … more Truly beautiful, antique, Cambodian Silver elephant betel nut box. Made in the traditional Khmer silver work. Made around the turn of the century. Each box is hand-formed of sheet silver and then hand chased and repousse added over copper. This betel box has a lot of detail, right down to the tusks. Use the zoom feature to see.

These boxes traditionally held betel leaves, nuts, leaves, tobacco and/ or ointments. Original condition. I made no attempt to clean as can be seen in the pictures of some residue at the bottom inside. Very rare to find this large size. Your chance to own a piece of history and beauty.

Measurements: 7" long x 5 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide
Marks: I couldn't find any marks, but there is so much decoration that I might be overlooking it.
